2021
Many Oculus Quest 2 games with Rift versions support cross-buy, so you can use Oculus Link to get better graphics and even new game modes for popular titles you already own. But there are also Rift or Rift S games without Quest ports that are absolutely worth playing if you’ve bought a VR-enabled PC. Below are the best Oculus Rift games on Quest 2 with Oculus Link.
★ Selected favorite:::
Asgard’s wrath
As the Norse god led by the famous trickster Loki, you must possess various mortal warriors to lead them to their glorious destiny. In practice, it means switching between different fighting styles and powers for each mini-campaign, and keeping things updated for a campaign that will last dozens of hours. In dungeons and quests you will learn about Norse mythology, recruit animal companions, and generally have a lot of fun. It’s worth full price, but Oculus may still be giving it away to new Quest 2 owners for free.

Zero G with zero drawbacks::
Lonely echo
Personnel selection
Echo VR is one of our favorite multiplayer VR games on the Quest, just for the controls. Still, this multiplayer experience is just a side benefit of Lone Echo, making you feel like a real astronaut surviving the horrors of space. As a synthetic AI named Jack on a station orbiting Saturn, you and your human companion will try to save your home from a mysterious disaster. Lone Echo mixes some of the best moves in a VR game with interesting puzzles and dialogue. We look forward to the sequel in 2021, but this 2017 game is still worth playing today.

Breath of the Wild meets Ratchet & Clank::
Stormland
That slogan isn’t accidental: Stormland is created by Insomniac Games (Ratchet & Clank, Marvel’s Spider-Man), which reportedly designed the game to reflect the latest Zelda game’s focus on unconstrained exploration rather than linear narrative. As an Android navigating an alien world on a mission of revenge, you will expand with new skills and unlock new ways to fight robot enemies and overcome obstacles. While you can shoot your way through the game on your own, you can also play it in co-op or repeat it in Cycling World mode, where locations and missions are procedurally chosen at random.

MMO space sim::
Elite dangerous
Despite being a massive sandbox that mirrors the Milky Way, Elite Dangerous is not only Microsoft Flight Sim but also in space. It’s full of other players involved in interstellar conflicts, and the choices that players make are actually changing the course of the world. There’s a lot to do and a steep learning curve and slower gameplay than other VR experiences. With the new free Horizons expansion that lets you land on planets in an off-road vehicle, Elite Dangerous is safer than ever.

Save jobs (and the lives of mankind)::
Budget cuts 2: Mission bankruptcy
In a world full of robots, it became inefficient to keep humanity working. As the last human worker to be soon obsolete, you travel secretly through various environments with your futuristic bow and teleportation weapon, physically ducking behind cover to keep the element of surprise in place. The original game is fun but more limited in terms of mechanics and level design. The sequel can stand on its own and is more of a full world with better environments to explore. So it’s perfectly fine to start here.

Half-life-like physics shooter::
Boneworks
In Boneworks, you’ll travel through an in-game virtual world armed with a variety of weapons, from guns to swords to gravity rifles, and plow your way through enemies on a mysterious quest. The game takes a realistic approach to physics, so you can pick up and throw smaller things easily, but make larger objects more difficult. You can use almost anything around you to solve puzzles or repel enemies. In addition to a confusing main story, there is a post-game sandbox mode where you can have your own fun with a variety of tools at your disposal.

Intense, strategic battle::
Blade & Sorcery
Using a variety of spells and weapons, you battle waves of medieval fantasy enemies. Parry and strike with your sword, deflect magical attacks or redirect them back at your enemies, blast them off parapets or hurl them into other enemies, or really do what you want with your skills – the physics engine won’t hold you back at all. Blade & Sorcery still has a lot to do, including some downloadable mods to add new weapons and powers like a Star Wars mod with lightsabers. It has some of the best VR battles to date!

Get the best Oculus Rift games on your Quest 2
After the Oculus Rift S was discontinued, many VR developers are understandably focusing on the Quest 2 for higher sales. However, there are still PC VR exclusives that can’t work with a mobile headset: games that are so long or have game engines so dynamic that they would consume half of your Quest 2’s memory and overclock its processing power, to be executed. This is where Oculus Link comes in, so you can trust your PC to do it all and save it.
Your natural starting point should be Asgard’s Wrath, as Oculus gifted it to new headset owners to encourage them to use Link! With its long, compelling story, great graphics, and varied battle, figuring out how Link works will be more than justified. However, if it doesn’t appeal to you, there are plenty of other options. If replayability is your main priority, Elite Dangerous or Blade & Sorcery can keep you entertained for hours. For a more linear but compelling experience, Lone Echo is considered one of the best VR games for a reason.
If you’re excited about trying out the best Oculus Rift games on your Quest 2, but your PC is not capable of the task, please refer to instructions on whether your computer is Link Compatible. If not, consider buying one of the best pre-built PCs for Oculus Link that will run these games without any graphical issues. If it’s compatible, you have two options: invest in one of the best Oculus Link cables for a consistent wired connection, or follow our guide on how to wirelessly stream games to your Oculus Quest 2.
