Oculus Quest 2 is the Finest-Promoting Oculus Headset By A Vital Margin

According to a recent interview with the VP for Augmented and Virtual Reality on Facebook, the Oculus Quest 2 does very well.

The Oculus Quest 2 has made a spectacular start. The Oculus Quest 2 launched back in October 2020 with great reviews, but many still wondered how it would perform in terms of sales since virtual reality had taken some time in relation to the mainstream perspective seems. However, according to a recent Bloomberg interview with Andrew Bosworth, VP of Augmented and Virtual Reality at Facebook, the Oculus Quest 2 has sold very well.

Numbers have already shown that Oculus Quest 2 games are selling well. It is one thing to let the technology sell by yourself, but software sales must also be high to be successful in the long run. According to this recent interview, Bosworth says the Oculus Quest 2 dramatically outperforms its predecessors.

When asked if the Oculus Quest 2 is achieving mainstream success – as opposed to something early adopters enjoy on their own – Bosworth replied that the Oculus Quest 2 oversold every Oculus Quest predecessor combined. That means that in five short months (since Quest 2 has been on the market since October 2020) the Oculus Quest 2 has oversold the Oculus Rift, Oculus Rift S, Oculus Go and Oculus Quest combined.

It should come as no surprise that the Oculus Quest 2 is an overall success. The technology has myriad benefits including the lack of cables, the fact that it doesn’t need to be plugged into another device (PC / console), etc. It is amazing to see how far VR technology has come so far. That being said, there are probably not many who would have predicted that the Oculus Quest 2 would have oversold all of the other Oculus VR devices that have already been combined.
