Inexperienced Hell VR is Out there Now on Oculus Quest 2
Incuvo Games’ Green Hell VR, a survival game set in the Amazon rainforest, is officially available now for the Oculus Quest 2.
For many, VR still seems like something that will never be mainstream entertainment. There are a variety of reasons for this, ranging from the expensiveness and required upkeep of VR headsets and equipment to the unique entertainment delivery method and limited range of games in the field. However, VR games have continued to push the envelope and showcase major step forward after major step forward.
Based on many reactions to it so far, it seems Green Hell VR is one of those major steps forward, and it’s available now on Oculus Quest 2. It does remain to be seen how this Incuvo-developed game is received overall, but everything appeared positive heading into its release. Green Hell VR’s release date trailer has over 200 comments, expressing a tone of excitement for the game. Many have even gone so far as to say it’s the “VR survival game we’ve been waiting for,” and with it out now, players can discover that for themselves.
GAMERANT VIDEO OF THE DAY
In Green Hell VR, players become anthropologist Jake Higgins and must survive alone in the Amazon Rainforest. Players only have a smartwatch, backpack, and survival guide to help, as they try to craft tools, weapons, shelter, discover safe herbs, hunt wild animals, and more. The game boasts 60+ unique gameplay mechanics, with all of them aiming to make the game incredibly immersive.
For those who want to play Green Hell VR but do not have an Oculus Quest 2 headset, they should know that it is planned to release on Steam VR in May. This version of the game was slightly delayed to implement feedback it had received from its demo. Fans waiting on this version should expect more information in the coming weeks, but it is likely to be priced the same. This means fans can expect the same standard price of $29.99, prior to any potential discounts.
Green Hell VR is developed by Incuvo Games, which has previously brought franchises like Blair Witch and Layers of Fear to the VR platform. Late last year, it was also acquired by Bulletstorm and Outriders developer People Can Fly, and Incuvo is currently working on bringing one of PCF’s IPs to VR as well. This People Can Fly VR game is expected to release sometime in 2023.
