One simple criticism you can make in the world of VR gaming is that, for the most part, they are not particularly sophisticated titles. Population: It could be the most ambitious VR title made specifically for the Quest to date. It’s a Fortnite-style battle royale masterpiece and puts you in a fully realized 3D world with a wealth of weapons, skills, construction and mobility mechanics to work with while battling a huge number of other players in real time play.
As with any other Battle Royale, your goal is to survive the other competitors and be the last team standing. You can paraglide, climb walls, snipe, run and shoot. Battle Royale is a hot gaming genre these days, and Population: One is putting VR on the map as a great environment to experience it.

The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners
Let’s get this out of the way up front: Do. Don’t. To like. This game wasn’t made for me because I find VR zombies terrible, and The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners isn’t a great choice for the casual gamer who, like me, doesn’t want to encounter horror face to face in VR – it’s a zombie, after all -Fighting game. In other words, if you love the TV show, you cannot love this game. The game is also based on movement mechanics that increase the risk of motion sickness. As such, VR newbies may need to get used to VR before they can try this title.
That might not sound like heartfelt endorsement for the game, but for the right kind of gamer, it’s a great example of what a big-budget A-list game from a big studio can look like in VR. The game is deep and has a long story to tell, with lots of crafting to build weapons and level up. There are sensible decisions that must be made in several ways to victory. If you always choose to go into any situation with an itchy trigger finger, you will often end up dead. If that sounds like fun, give it a try – but at $ 40, think twice before making your purchase.

It wasn’t long before gamers and developers realized that VR was a great place to work out, especially after Beat Saber (also on this list) proved to be the Quest’s first true breakout game, leaving gamers sweaty and exhausted . Supernatural picks up where Beat Saber leaves off and was designed from the ground up for workouts. There are light, medium, and hard workouts that work out both your upper and lower body with constant arm swing, lunges, and squats.
Supernatural has a couple of elements that make it incredibly addicting. Every day there is at least one new workout done by real human trainers who keep you motivated during each session. The workouts take place in some of the most beautiful locations in the world, so you can be sure that your morning routine will take you to mountain peaks, arctic landscapes, and ocean views. You punch, stab, and shoot your way through a series of very, very short but intense bursts of action as you battle glass enemies that break at the slightest touch. The physics of the game is the star of the show, which allows for cool moves like catching weapons that enemies drop when you kill them and other fancy time stop moves. There’s no actual narrative here, although the game’s various locations suggest that a story is playing out that was never fully realized.

But that’s not all – you’re a smaller version of a much larger lighthouse, and there’s a giant fisherman out there who does whatever you do too. Like a trippy Russian nesting doll, the layers go infinitely in both directions.
The game builds on this premise by putting you in situations where you need to solve puzzles with objects around you. But sometimes you need larger or smaller versions of these things, and you need to manipulate your world to gain access to items from the vast world above you or the scale model on the table.

Final Assault is a simple real-time strategy game that imagines what it would be like if the WWII-style toy soldiers you played with as a kid were brought to life. The game mechanics are simple, you have a good selection of weapons and vehicles, and you can play single player campaigns or multiplayer battles. Every moment in this game is utterly delightful, but nothing compares to controlling a WWII bomber that flies around your head like a remote-controlled airplane. Final Assault is an incredibly addicting game that you will find that you can’t stop playing for months and months after you first install it.
