The way to Play Roblox on Oculus Quest 2
Since the ever-growing multiplayer platform made its remarkable debut in 2006, Roblox continues to be a cultural and gaming juggernaut for PC and console gamers alike. One of the reasons why over 150 million people are jumping on Roblox to play in 20 million-plus user-developed “experiences” is because of how the global platform is structured to bring people together through play, making the game ideal for friend groups or solo adventures. However, for those who want to extend their gaming experience beyond a controller and wish to explore the worlds of Roblox head-first, here’s how to do so using the Oculus Quest 2.
GAMERANT VIDEO OF THE DAY
Before advancing further, players should note that PEGI gave Roblox an age 7 rating, as some user-created worlds can have horror, murder, or adult themes. This PEGI rating only considers the content in the game and not the contact element, where players may be exposed to swearing and offensive language from strangers through on-screen text chat. On top of this, Roblox also features additional in-game purchases, which may not be suitable for younger audiences.
What Is Roblox?
Roblox is an online game builder and creator platform where “amateur” game creators create the majority of the content. These game makers can create and publish games to the community using simple tools. These games can then be played by gamers worldwide, often online together, through a PC, console, phone, or tablet application.
However, only recently the game is now somewhat available on the brand new Oculus Quest 2 headset. After all, Roblox isn’t presented as an Oculus Quest or Quest 2 title, but if users connect their headset to a PC correctly, there is a fail-proof method of playing the game in VR.
How To Play Roblox on Oculus Quest 2
One of the Oculus Quest 2’s biggest selling points is that the headset not only works as a self-contained unit but it can also be connected with a PC for a richer experience. With that said, for virtual reality gamers to do so, they will need a PC almost enough to support VR technology. This process involves connecting a PC to the Quest using a high-quality USB cable explicitly built for this purpose.
Once gamers have linked their Oculus with a wire, they will first need to install, then boot up the Oculus app on the chosen PC. Within the application, they can open the “devices” navigation tab and connect the Oculus Quest 2 by selecting “Add Headset.” To wrap up the process, simply select “Settings,” then “general” from the navigation menu in the Oculus app to enable connection to “UnknownSources.”
Now, players just need to find a Roblox game, click the play button, and put on their headset to be good to go. Although, players should keep a mental note to try not to accidentally tug the wire and knock their PC over or any other objects within the vicinity as they move around.
Roblox is available now on Mobile, PC, and Xbox One.
