Potential leaked picture of Oculus Quest 2: Is that this the following headset?

The original Oculus Quest, which is over a year old, could soon be upgraded.

It was nice over a year since the Oculus Quest debutedand it was a phenomenal (and often hard to come by) Product so far. According to reports, a new version could be on the way soon, although it’s still unclear whether it’s a lighter revision of the existing hardware or a new step-up model. But this leaked image posted today by well-known tech product yummy WalkingCat could be your first look at Oculus Quest 2 or Quest S, or whatever it’s called.

This possible next generation Oculus Quest is all white and … it looks like the previous Oculus Quest. But something different.

Oculus, which is part of Facebook, had no comment to CNET about the image or future hardware.

The picture honestly doesn’t look much different from the existing Oculus Quest. There are apparently still four tracking cameras left, and the controllers look the same. The headset knows what’s new. The outer fabric looks replaced by a smoother material. The head straps seem slimmed down from the stiffer arrangement of the current Quest: Would that be better for head adjustment or not? The USB-C and headphone jacks are now closer together, and the bottom of the headset seems to be missing the current Quest’s IPD slider that moves the lenses further apart or closer together for a personal eye adjustment.

We don’t yet know what a next-gen quest might have, but faster processing with a newer Qualcomm chip and improved space tracking would be a good start.
