Oculus Quest 2 120Hz assist pushed again – KitGuru
Just last week we learned that the Oculus Quest 2 will receive 120 Hz support. The developers estimate a release window for Q1 2021. Unfortunately, things have shifted a bit since then, as 120 Hz support has been pushed back by a few months.
According to UploadVR, Facebook’s Quest Platform Roadmap available to all Oculus developer account holders, 120 Hz support for Quest 2 has been moved to a launch window for Q2 2021.
While developers are currently targeting Q2 2021, there is a trust list next to this release window. At this point, developers have “little” confidence that this deadline can be met.
Facebook Reality Labs has slowly implemented upgrades for Quest 2 over time. Last year the team provided 90Hz display support and hand tracking via the HMD’s sensors.
KitGuru Says: It looks like we could wait a while longer than expected for 120Hz Quest 2 support. Do you have a Quest 2 headset? Are you looking forward to the 120Hz upgrade?
