You can connect an Oculus Quest 2 to a PC in two ways: with an Oculus Link cable (or other high quality USB-C cable) or wirelessly with Air Link. This unlocks a number of VR experiences for PC only and you can use the power of your PC to get better screen visualizations.

Connect an Oculus Quest 2 to a PC: Using Oculus Link

If you prefer to use a wired connection, follow the steps below to connect your Oculus Quest 2 to a PC using the Oculus Link. This method should work for both Oculus Quest and Quest 2 headsets. You can use the official Oculus Link cable or a high quality USB-C 3.0 cable. Check out the individual ratings of third-party cables, however, as not all are rated for VR performance.

Step 1: Check the compatibility requirements to make sure your PC and headset meet all hardware and software requirements.

Step 2: Go to the Oculus app on your computer and turn on your headset.

Step 3: You’ll need to plug one end of the USB or Oculus Link cable into the USB 3.0 port on your PC. The other end should then plug into your headset.

Step 4: In virtual reality, you will see a request to allow data access. Be sure to select Deny.

Step 5: When prompted to activate Oculus Link, select Activate.

Connect an Oculus Quest 2 to a PC: Using Air Link

If you prefer wireless connectivity and have a Quest 2 headset, follow these steps to connect your headset using Air Link. This method only works for Quest 2 headsets. You need to make sure that both your Quest 2 and the Oculus app on your PC have been updated to version 28 (v28) or higher.

Step 1: Navigate to the Oculus app on your PC and select Settings. On the Beta tab, choose the button next to Air Link.

Step 2: Wear your headset and press the Oculus button to open the menu. Select the Settings gear icon and choose Experimental Features.

Step 3: Select the button next to Air Link. Choose Next.

Step 4: From the Available PCs list that appears, select your PC and select Pair. After pairing is complete, select Start.

The instructions above are required to pair your PC with your Quest 2 for the first time. After the initial pairing, all future connections should be to turn on Air Link using the Quick Actions menu in Settings.
