Finest Oculus Quest 2 equipment for 2021
The Oculus Quest 2 has brought virtual reality closer to mainstream than ever with an affordable and powerful VR game system that is wireless. This is the key to a great VR experience. While the prices for it start at $ 300 for the 64GB versionIt’s pretty simple and doesn’t include anything other than the VR headset and two controllers. You can easily play with the Oculus Quest 2, but a number of accessories are available to enhance the gaming experience and protect your portable VR gaming system.
Here are some of the best accessory options, I’ve tried some and bought some myself. Others on the list are highly rated by users. I’ll add more top accessories and update this list as I try more.

If you’re looking for a little bit of protection for the Oculus Quest 2 head unit (yes, people have known to drop it), a head covering will help. The NUFR is available in a variety of colors for around $ 16, with the price varying slightly depending on the color.

When I wanted to upgrade to an “Elite” headband, I didn’t really want to spend $ 50 on the official Oculus Elite headband. I was looking for a bundle that combined a few accessories and found this one from Esimen that contains a nice suitcase. So far, everything has been holding up well after a month of use.
Another version of this is sold under the Masiken brand on Amazon. It looks the same and costs about the same.

I wanted a bit more challenge when doing workout games like Thrill of the Fight, Fitness VR, The Climb and The Climb 2, Beat Saber and many others, so I considered getting portable weights. In my research, I found that weighted gloves, rather than wrist weights, were the way to go. Just be warned that you should proceed at your own risk (you could injure yourself playing these VR games) but this will certainly add to the intensity of your workout.
Each glove only adds a pound of weight, but that’s more than you think. They fit nicely in the controllers.
FramesDirect
You can certainly play with the Oculus 2 while wearing glasses, but it’s more convenient not to. This is where a set of corrective lens inserts comes into play.
Oculus has partnered with FramesDirect to offer such Rx inserts. Virtu Clear lens insert prices start at $ 80. There are other options for using VR Rx lenses, including those from VR Lens Lab and WidmoVR, but I’ve only tried the Virtu Clear lenses. They work well and are easy enough to get in and out of for someone to play who doesn’t need glasses.

Many Oculus games are designed to make you sweat. For this reason, it is a good idea to purchase a silicone or faux leather face cover that you can easily wipe off after each gaming session. I bought this Vukoo package which also includes a set of controller handles and a protective lens cover (it’s important to protect your lenses from the sun and bumps). Everything fits and works well so no complaints.
I also found this Veer bundle that also includes a front screen protector for $ 18. It may actually be a better deal because it involves more for less, but I haven’t tried it so I can’t tell you for sure.

While you can use any corded headset with the Oculus Quest 2, there are a handful of official “Oculus-enabled” headsets, including Logitech’s G Pro gaming headset for the Oculus Quest 2. It appears to be sturdy and comfortable for an over -Ear headphones. with memory foam ear cushions that passively seal off ambient noise. You will receive a short cable (with a Velcro fastener) designed for the Oculus Quest 2 and other cable accessories that allow you to use the headset with your PC and other game consoles. The boom microphone is detachable.
I’ve focused a little more on the comfort factor – and wearing these during a training game will put the temperature on your head a little bit higher – but they sound good too.

If you’re looking for a more comfortable gaming experience, upgrading to an “Elite” strap is the way to go. This is the official Oculus version. Personally, I bought a fake Esimen that came in a package with a suitcase for roughly the same price (see above). It was fine, but some people want the official version and that’s it.

If you don’t want to wear full-sized headphones while gaming, the Logitech G333 earbuds are a great alternative. They also come with a short cord (and a Velcro fastener) for Oculus headsets.
The string that goes to the right bud is longer so you wear this string behind your neck so you can let it hang when you don’t have the buds in your ears. As far as earbuds go, while they’re nothing special, they have sturdy cord, overall feel sturdy, and are well-designed for use with the Oculus Quest 2. They will provide a solid sound when given a tight seal (some different sized tips are included).
There are many cheaper earbud options for the Oculus Quest 2 – you can find them here. I haven’t tried them, however, and some don’t seem to last as long as the Logitech G333.

The Anchor Loading Dock for Oculus Quest 2 is exactly what it sounds like. It’s a resting place for your main Oculus 2 device and controllers when you’re not using them. It includes rechargeable batteries for your controllers, plus a USB-C cable and power adapter (you plug the cable into the dock).
The dock also comes with a small magnetic USB-C adapter that you plug into the USB-C port on the Oculus headset. Then dock the head unit and the integrated magnetic charger is connected to the adapter.
I was even able to charge the head unit with an Elite head strap, but you will have to remove any handles you may have on the controllers to charge them.

I haven’t tried this combination of accessories yet, but it gets high marks on Amazon and seems like a great way to plug in an external battery (not included) for longer gameplay sessions.
There is a magnetic docking area on the back of the comfort belt. You simply stick the self-adhesive metal plate onto an external battery and the battery then sticks to the comfort belt.

If you’re just looking for a lens cover, this Orzero VR lens protective cover is one of the most popular options for less than $ 10. Personally, I am looking for accessory packs that include a lens cover, but some people only want these accessories.

You can play Oculus PC VR games on your Quest 2, but you will need a link cable, although Oculus has refined its Air Link WiFi option to be more reliable. The official Oculus Link cable is $ 79, but there are many cheaper versions available, including this 20-foot KRX cable.

If you’re looking for an external battery that can be plugged into your headset for more juice, this 10,000mAh Aukey is a great option for $ 20. You’ll need to find a way to clip it to your headset. I made a DYI mount with a stick-on magnet that I put on the back of an Elite Head Strap tee, and then I glued a sticky plate onto the battery. It worked great. Magnets are your friends when it comes to assembly. (Update: Like all other Aukey products on Amazon, this one is currently unavailable.)
