Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, and Oculus Quest devices are currently unavailable.
All companies are owned by Facebook and are experiencing a major failure of their shared online infrastructure. The services have not been available since 12 p.m. EST.
WhatsApp users get into an endless “connection loop” while Facebook refuses to load completely. The Oculus Store and online games like Rec Room are also out of order. Many r / OculusQuest users claim that they can’t even use their Oculus Quest VR headsets.
“I can’t use mine”, user Lending_ear said in a thread about the failure. “It was perfectly fine and then my area suffered a power outage and the wifi went down. I turned off the headset because I couldn’t play multiplayer. “
We are aware that some users are having problems accessing our apps and products. We are working to get things back to normal as soon as possible and we apologize for any inconvenience.

Later on the same Reddit thread, user welshman1971 claims the games work finealthough they haven’t tested whether the failure affects multiplayer games.
While it does seem like case by case whether or not Oculus Quest owners can actually use their devices, most say none of these are currently working.
