Amazon’s Prime Day event is a huge distraction right now, but it hasn’t stopped Facebook from releasing the second generation of its Oculus Quest virtual reality headset.
The Oculus Quest 2 was pre-ordered during Facebook Connect 7 last month, and those pre-orders have now been shipped. The headset is also available more generally for $ 299 either directly from Oculus or through Amazon. According to Amazon, the Quest 2 will start shipping on October 23rd However, thanks to faster delivery options, you can get it by October 16th if you’re quick.
The $ 299 price tag is $ 100 cheaper than the first Quest headset, but it only gives you the 64GB version. If you spend $ 399, the storage will expand to 256GB. There is also the $ 79 interconnect cable to consider if you want to connect the Quest 2 to a Windows PC. A bundle of an Elite harness with battery and carrying case is available for $ 129.
