Assessment: Oculus Quest 2 is an enormous step ahead for digital actuality, regardless of Fb requirement

The Quest 2 takes approximately 2-3 hours before you need to charge the battery. It takes about two and a half hours to fully charge. Hope there is better battery technology in Quest 3.

You can extend game time by purchasing an expensive additional Elite harness and battery. However, these are not currently available from the Oculus Store’s local website.

Additional accessories are available, e.g. B. a link cable that will give you access to all the VR games that you can play on the PC e.g. B. the very exciting Half-Life: Alyx.

But that cable is also expensive – another $ 139 in Aotearoa. You can buy off-brand cables cheaper, but it would be nice if the official material was cheaper.

The judgment

The Oculus Quest 2 is a nice and easy way to get into VR at the most advanced level yet for mobile phones at a reasonable price.

You don’t need any technology other than internet access and unfortunately a Facebook account.

But the quality and freedom this device offers makes it a huge step forward for VR and there are plenty of great games out there that are geared towards families and casual gamers rather than hardcore gamers.

While technology will get even better in a couple of years, this is a great way to get into VR and will likely bring a lot of joy to anyone who gets it.
