Anker’s Oculus Quest 2 Charging Dock is coming in January
Anker, a fan-favorite company at 9to5, today announced the first third-party charging station for the Oculus Quest 2 virtual reality headset. Come to $ 87With Anker’s Oculus Quest 2 charging station, it’s easy to make sure you’re always ready for a long VR session. What does it all come with and how does it work? Read on to find out.
Anker’s Oculus Quest 2 charging station contains rechargeable batteries for your controllers
The controllers that come with the Oculus Quest 2 use AA batteries that need to be replaced from time to time. Well, Anker wanted to negate this with their brand new charging station and decided to put in two rechargeable AA batteries just for this purpose.
Anker didn’t stop there. You never have to take the batteries out of the controller for more convenience. Right, all you have to do is place the controllers in the dedicated dock and the built-in pins will automatically recharge them. This ensures you’ll never pick up a dead battery, and Anker has tested it to withstand up to 500 charges. This is more than enough to play for a couple of years before it’s time to swap them out.
Stay organized and always ready to play
The Quest 2 itself needs to be charged as well, resulting in a crowded area if you plug everything in. The anchor docking station has some useful features, including a USB-C charger and a USB-C cable the crate. Once the dock is self-powered, you will find a magnetic USB-C headset port to ensure your VR gear is properly powered. Thanks to the powerful adapter included here, it only takes 2.5 hours of plugging in to go from dead to fully charged. For the way Anker built the dock, all you need to do is park the Quest 2 so it can charge so you don’t even have to worry about plugging in cables.
This allows for minimal downtime if you’re stuck this holiday season, using virtual reality as an escape … or just flying from planet to planet in No Man’s Sky.
