VR chat participant seems to have a photosensitive seizure

Participants in a VR chat room watched as the avatar of one of the participants went into a grand mal seizure, accompanied by desperate noises that could be heard through voice chat.

They say the participant experienced a flicker-induced photosensitive epileptic seizure while wearing a motion capture suit, which caused the participant’s avatar to mimic the real-life seizure in VR.

The response from the users in the room is not what you expected. As we reported recently, like many corners of the internet, VRChat is an interesting place, but also a kind of shit hole where users harass each other and scream about incoherent, often racist memes. It is entirely possible that Rogue’s video is being staged (I reached out for a comment and will update this story if I hear something) or that the person who appears to be suffering from the seizure is just trying to prank other users. Overall, however, the users in the room responded compassionately.
