Train to be tracked by medics in XRHealth and VirZOOM VR collab
Augmented reality medical company XRHealth has partnered with VirZOOM to transform virtual reality (VR) exercises for patients in hospitals, rehab centers and at home.
Collaboration allows clinicians to remotely access data analytics about a patient’s exercise routine, in a medical center, or at home, to see how the exercise is affecting their health goals.
XRHealth, formerly known as VRHealth, offers both VR and Augmented Reality (AR) solutions for the medical industry. The VR solution, the VRHealth platform, helps clinicians better manage the care of their patients with the help of specialized extended reality technology solutions and data analysis. The platform collects and examines user data using artificial intelligence (AI) and cloud computing algorithms to analyze a patient’s health in real time.
VirZOOM’s technology, the VZfit fitness platform, is used in conjunction with a stationary bike to improve the exercise routine by allowing the wearer to play a VR game while completing their exercise routine.
By feeding data from VZfit into the VRHealth platform, doctors can track the progress of their patients outside of hospitals and rehab centers.
Eric Janszen, Co-Founder and CEO of VirZOOM, said, “Harnessing the immersive power of VR, VirZOOM’s VZfit platform offers unique, fun, new VR-based activities that regularly motivate cardio-training consumers who are particularly motivated need the regular cardio exercise that they know they need but aren’t getting today.
“We are excited to partner with XRHealth to extend the wellness benefits of VZfit to medical applications, including rehabilitation and physical therapy, and to provide valuable insights into patient responses to VZfit through the XRHealth platform.”
The VRHealth platform also offers medical VR apps for cognitive assessment and training, motor skills, pain management and behavior problems. It has been recognized as a medical device by the US Food and Drug Administration and is CE registered in the EU.
