How to change the Oculus username
To change the Oculus Quest 2 username or the username for an Oculus headset, users must first log in to the Oculus website. Once logged in, users will be directed to the page above. Click the “Edit” button (where the red arrow is pointing) on the right side of the screen next to the current username.
Once that’s done, a few new dialog boxes will appear on the page. The one on the left is where the new username will be entered. The right one is for the account password. Simply fill out these two fields and click “Save” to save your changes.
There are a few rules, however. As the above picture shows, users can only change their account username every six months. Be sure to choose it a little carefully. Second, usernames must be two to 20 characters long and “can contain letters, numbers, hyphens, underscores, and periods, but cannot contain dashes, underscores, or periods in sequence.” This means that users can use these icons, but not in sequence. The rules are pretty simple, but rules nonetheless.
This will help players feel more comfortable online, but there are also ways to make playing the Oculus Quest 2 more comfortable. There are several face pillows and braces that gamers can purchase to help distribute the weight of the headset more evenly, which is as helpful as VR will tire you out after long sessions. Changing usernames can also be a great way to introduce a new headset. Unfortunately, this is one of the few ways to “update” the system’s internal memory.
