The Tempest Returns To The Underneath Presents For A Restricted Time

Tender Claws is bringing back its live in VR appearances of William Shakespeare’s The Tempest, featured in their VR experience The Under Presents.

The first run of the show began in July 2020 with $ 15 tickets that allow access to a live retelling of the Shakespearean classic led by an actor who joins you live in VR. Now The Tempest is returning to The Under Presents for a limited time, showing shows every weekend in March.

Each session lasts 45 minutes and costs $ 14.99. This includes access to a scheduled performance of The Tempest and permanent access to The Under Multiplayer Space. The basic application can be downloaded free of charge. Tickets for The Tempest are available as an in-app purchase. Each show includes a live actor and 8 ticket participants.

Meetings are held on Fridays and Saturdays between 5pm and 8pm Pacific time and Sundays between 10am and 1pm. While The Under Presents is available for both Quest and PC VR, access to The Tempest is exclusive to the Rift and Quest through Oculus platforms.

Writing about a preview performance last year, Ian Hamilton said that The Under Presents’ version of The Tempest is “unlike anything else in virtual reality.” Each actor has their own way of telling the story and inviting participants to participate, so no two sessions of the show are the same.

With free access to the main app, users can also try a 45-minute introduction to The Under Presents for free. Access to the Timeboat single player experience will then also be available as an in-app purchase for $ 11.99.

The Tempest’s Under Presents performances run throughout March. Tickets are now available in the app.
