Oculus Quest 2 setup is tremendous straightforward. Getting OpenSim on it, not a lot – Hypergrid Enterprise

Maria Korolov with the Oculus Quest 2 headset.

I ordered my Oculus Quest 2 headset this morning – and it arrived tonight.

The first impression is that it’s the easiest to use headset I’ve tried so far. Very convenient, very light, and I didn’t even have to charge it when I took it out of the box.

Next step – find out how to use it with OpenSim.

First I need to install Steam and Steam VR (and find a light skin for Steam as my eyes suck and can’t read white text on a black background). Then install the Oculus app on my computer.

Then there’s something called Firestorm VR Mod, and the latest download link is here. Unfortunately, I get an error message when I try to run it.

Hello, this will probably take a while! Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions on how to fix the Firestorm problem? I will keep you up to date.

In the meantime, check out my unboxing video below.
