Facebook surprised people by announcing that the Oculus Quest 2 starts at just $ 299. This price is $ 100 lower than the starting price of the original Oculus Quest when it was launched.

The Oculus Quest 2 has significantly better specifications than its predecessor. It runs on a Snapdragon XR2 processor, which enables impressive VR experiences. The Snapdragon Xr2 is three generations beyond the Snapdragon 835 that came with the original Oculus Quest.

Facebook has improved the Oculus Quest 2 across the board. It has 6 GB of RAM and up to 256 GB of storage.
The headset also has a display with around 50 percent more pixels than the original. This display has a refresh rate of 90 Hz, but it’s important to note that Oculus Link won’t support 90 Hz until Facebook rolls out an update in the future. Apps and games that run natively on the Oculus Quest 2 will run at 72 Hz unless the “experimental” 90 Hz mode is enabled.
The touch controllers for the Oculus Quest 2 offer improved ergonomics. The new touch controllers are based on the design of the popular original touch controllers from Rift.

Facebook didn’t mention any delays in announcing the Oculus Quest 2 through Facebook Connect. Pre-orders are now open and the headset should start shipping October 13, 2020.

The Oculus Quest 2 has a soft-touch strap that makes it more comfortable to wear than the original Oculus Quest. You can also purchase an Elite strap for the Oculus Quest 2 that will relieve pressure from the front of the headset.
The Oculus Quest 2 has a physical lens adjustment system but is different from that of the original Oculus Quest. It has three IPD settings of 58mm, 63mm and 68mm.
The Oculus Quest 2 has a USB-C port and works with the Oculus Link. This port can also be used for charging via a plug or a battery bank. The headset has built-in speakers on the straps and a headphone jack on the housing.

The Oculus Quest 2 can play all the games from the original Oculus Quest. This means that any game confirmed for Oculus Quest will work with the new and improved Oculus Quest 2.
The Oculus Quest 2 can also use Oculus Link. This means that you can play PCVR tracks when the headset is plugged into a PC that has enough power to run PCVR.

Can I use the Oculus Quest 2 outside?

You shouldn’t use Oculus Quest 2 outdoors. Sunlight can and will easily damage the headset’s display. The Oculus Quest has lenses that allow you to immerse yourself in VR, which is great, but they also double as magnifying glasses for sunlight. If sunlight hits the lenses of the Oculus Quest 2, the display in the headset can be burned.
In addition to harmful sunlight to the Oculus Quest 2, humidity can also damage the headset.
Aside from all of the security-related reasons you should keep your Oculus Quest 2 inside, the headset may not work as well if you take it outside. If the sunlight is too bright, it can be difficult for the cameras on the outside of the device to track Touch Controllers.
