Snapshot VR is an up and coming paintball-style arena shooter with an emphasis on team tactics and high-speed action. He’s joining PC VR at Giant Scam Industries this August. There are even official NXL paintball professional maps!

If you’re a fan of Rec Room paintball, like the look of Solaris: Offworld Combat, and want something built that is extremely fast with almost no margin for error, then Snapshot VR is for you . From the moment a game starts, you’ll have to climb key trajectories to hold positions and use callouts to communicate with your team and adapt.
According to the press release, games typically don’t even last a full minute, so hopefully the loading wait times are extremely low or nonexistent. You’ll get shot once, you’re out. No respawns, no armor shots, no killstreaks – either kill the other team or hit the buzzer to win.
Snapshot VR provides 5v5 matches that require snapshot accuracy. This is a paintball term that refers to the ability to quickly turn, aim, and shoot from behind. Snapshot VR has even more official National Xball League (NXL) maps and allows players to create their own custom maps with 2D Paintballs Field Creator that can be exported to Snapshot VR.
The developers at Giant Scam Industries also focus on providing a lot of stats and analysis, including heat maps for post-game analysis in specific arenas to help formulate better strategies.
You can also choose from three different modes of transportation, but we don’t yet know exactly what they are. Judging by the trailer, smooth locomotion seems to be a matter of course. You can also choose from many customization options that most VR shooters strangely lack.
Snapshot VR is expected to be available this August on Steam Early Access and Viveport for PC VR headsets. Specifically, developers plan to support Rift, Rift S, Vive, Vive Pro, Cosmos, Cosmos Elite, Windows MR, and Index from the start.
Oculus Quest with interconnect should work through Steam too, but there is currently no word about an official Quest or PSVR version.
